McMillan Cool Feed is a lower-energymaintenance feed, formulated specifically for ponies and horses in light work, or horses at rest. The combination of fibre ingredients and steam-flaked barley, helps maintain a lower energy status and therefore minimise the effects of fizziness. The inclusion of steam-flaked barley and live yeast helps maximise digestibility and ensure a healthy digestive system.
McMillan Equine Feeds contain a portion of the cereal composition as steam-flaked cereals. This cooking, steamflaking process, considerably enhances starch digestibility, allowing for a more complete digestion and conversion of starch to sugars in the small intestine. Excessive hind gut fermentation of cereal grains is therefore minimised, ensuring a safer and healthier digestive process with reduced incidence of colic, laminitis or reduction in performance.

Important Information:
Always provide access to sufficient fibre such as hay, chaff or pasture to ensure good hind gut digestive physiology. At least 1.5% of the horse's body weight should be provided as fibre. Split feed amounts in as many feeds as possible, but ideally no less than two feeds per day. High copper levels in McMillan Equine Feeds make them unsuitable for feeding to sheep. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
