McMillan Free-Up is a complete high-energyracehorse feed formulated specifically for the horse prone to tying-up. A number of nutrients have been identified as being beneficial in helping minimise the effect of tying-up muscle disorders.
Free-Up contains an extensive range of these nutrients to ensure requirements are met in full. The combination of steam-flaked cereals with oil seeds and vegetable oils, ensures a diet of high-energy and one that helps to minimise lactic acid build-up in muscle tissue.
McMillan Equine Feeds contain a portion of the cereal composition as steam- flaked cereals. This steam-flaking process considerably enhances starch digestibility, allowing for a more complete digestion and conversion of starch to sugars in the small intestine. Excessive hind gut fermentation of cereal grains is therefore minimised, ensuring a safer and healthier digestive process with reduced incidence of colic, laminitis or reduction in performance.
Additional electrolytes may be required under heavy work regimes and/or hot and humid conditions.

Important information
Always provide access to sufficient fibre such as hay, chaff or pasture to ensure good hindgut digestive physiology. At least 1.5% of the horse's body weight should be provided as fibre. Split feed amounts in as many feeds as possible, but ideally no less than two feeds per day. High copper levels in McMillan Equine Feeds make them unsuitable for feeding to sheep. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
