McMillan Year One is a complete diet formulated for the growing horse. Balanced levels of minerals and vitamins are included to ensure correct bone and joint development during the growing phase. Quality protein sources and selection of readily-available mineral forms ensure sound growth and bone development.
McMillan Equine Feeds contain a portion of the cereal composition as steam-flaked cereals. This steam-flaking process considerably enhances starch digestibility, allowing for a more complete digestion and conversion of starch to sugars in the small intestine. Excessive hind gut fermentation of cereal grains is therefore minimised, ensuring a safer and healthier digestive process with reduced incidence of colic, laminitis or reduction in performance.

Important information
Always provide access to sufficient fibre such as hay, chaff or pasture to ensure good hind gut digestive physiology. At least 1.5% of the horse's body weight should be provided as fibre. Split feed amounts in as many feeds as possible, but ideally no less than two feeds per day. Regular exercise is an important management aspect in ensuring sound bone and joint development in the developing yearling. High copper levels in McMillan Equine Feeds make them unsuitable for feeding to sheep. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
